Why Free?

No ads. No price tag.
No catch.

A fair question. Here's the full, honest answer — not the legal version, just the real one.

01

Circles is a gift, not a product.

Most apps are free because you're the product. Your attention gets sold to advertisers, your data gets packaged and traded, your behaviour gets studied to keep you hooked longer. The app is free because the app is the business.

Circles is different. It was built because we genuinely believe the world needs a social app that treats people as people — and that belief runs the whole thing. There are no growth targets, no investors to answer to, no revenue model pulling decisions in a direction that isn't yours.

"We built something we wanted to exist. Not something we wanted to monetise."

02

So how do the lights stay on?

Circles is built and funded by Mono, a software company with its own clients and revenue. Mono pays the servers, the infrastructure, and the team that keeps Circles running — no strings attached.

If costs grow beyond what Mono can comfortably absorb, we would look to non-profit grants and mission-aligned funding first. Keeping Circles free and clean is the commitment — full stop.

03

Will you ever sell our data?

Your data is yours — full stop.

The things you share on Circles — photos, moments, messages with the people you love — stay exactly where you put them. We store what we need to run the app and nothing more. Your content exists to be shared with your circle, and that's the only thing it's ever used for.

Keeping your private life private is the entire point of Circles. It's not a policy we maintain — it's the reason the app exists.

"Your private life should stay private. That's not a feature — it's the whole point."

04

Why are you doing this?

Honestly? Because it felt worth doing. Social media has quietly made people lonelier, more anxious, and more performative — and we wanted to build something that went the other way.

Circles is a small attempt to give something back. A space where people can just be themselves with the people they love — present, unhurried, unjudged. It's not a grand gesture. It's just the app we wished existed.

Free today. Free tomorrow. Free because it should be.

Free to download. Free to use. Built entirely for you.
